Around the yard

VoilĂ -a viola!

My dogwood and my dog

This maple is busy growing new leaves.

The brand new maple leaves

Blossoms-these smelled sooo good!

An empty nest

Bumbling

I stood at the back of the rhododendron and zoomed in on Mama/Papa sitting on the nest.
What a beautiful day in Pennsylvania!  I hope it is nice where you are too!

The Roc

The Roc and his twinnie

The Roc thought he was 'all that' because he was up on the couch having a talk with Larry.

The Roc has mad balancing skills.

Robin's eggs

Day one

Day two

Day three

Day four

How I check the nest.

Mama and Papa get so mad at me!  I can't blame them though-they've got to protect their babies to be.
I'm so happy that I get to peek in on these guys.  Don't worry-I won't bother them too much!

Have a great weekend.  :)

'Blossom'

This is Blossom.

Her name was inspired by these lovely apple blossoms.  It really fits her-don't you think?

Starling in the house!

This happens every spring and fall-birds, usually starlings come down our furnace pipe and into the basement. Usually it's pretty easy for me to get them out-just open the basement door and turn off the lights and they head right outside. Sometimes, though-the door to our upstairs is open and they come up and make a mess-flapping around, knocking stuff over, and pooping on everything. This one made it all the way to our upstairs bathroom, behind the door. I put on some gloves, grabbed him and set him free. Glad I got a pic first, though.

Welcomed sights!

Any tiny bloom, any bit of color-I'll happily take it!

I hope spring is springing (or soon will) where you are too!

Forsythia is resilient

Mine!

Mine!
Yesterday on my way to town-I was admiring (I took a few pics too) all the lovely forsythia along the road, asking myself why I had let my husband pull mine off our bank all those years ago.

This morning, I looked outside toward my lilac bushes and what did I spy?  A little wand of yellow.  I smiled to myself, because I knew what it was.  Years after Hubby pulled it, it was growing back.  This time-he's not touching it, he can just mow around it. :)

You just can't keep a good forsythia bush down!

Have a wonderful day!

Kimmie's bridal shower

The bride-to-be~she's so cute!

The gift table

The love birds cakes

The tables-the favors were homemade strawberry jam and the centerpieces (which doubled as game prizes) were travel mugs filled with kitchen accessories.

The favors

The spread

My contribution
Saturday was my sister's bridal shower.  It was really, really nice and everybody had fun!  I can't take any credit for it though-all I did was bring the veggies and dip.  :)

Off my camera

Some pics from my travels (that 10-15 mile radius around my home) over the past week or so.
I noticed this pink bike stuck in a tree on the side of the road over a year ago.  I still don't understand this. Things that make you go hmmmm.

On my way to Larry's aunt's house

Larry's aunt's kittie-Fluffy.  She's so pretty-she's about 13 years old.

Jodie's tulips from a week ago.  I wonder if they're blooming yet.  Probably not yet.

I stopped at a pond near my house to take pics of ducks I saw there.  Dang it-the ducks were too far away, so the pics didn't turn out.  I never realized how big that pond was.

Nature has the best colors.

It looks like the robins are fixing up one of their nests from last year.  Hopefully, I'll get a front row seat  to watch baby robins again this year.  Can't wait.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Aster, Ebony, and Perry Winkle

I've been less of a slacker than usual this week. I made two rugs and added on to another one. Yay!
This is Aster.

This is Ebony.  I had cut up a bunch of my yucky black t-shirts, yoga pants, and even a skirt I hadn't worn in over five years-so I had plenty of black rag balls that needed used up.

Larry wanted a rug in the living room for the Roc to lie on-so, I pulled out Perry Winkle from a few years ago.  I decided to add on to it to make it bigger and I used gray.  Then I saw my vacuum sitting near it and noticed that it matched perfectly-right down to the duck tape!  Weird, huh?
